How The Rider Provides A Full Body Workout For Users

If you haven’t come across it before, the Rider is a user-friendly piece of outdoor exercise kit that’s become one of the most popular across our range of equipment. What’s more, it suits all levels of ability and fitness, since the user determines the pace and can work as hard or as gently as they like.

In a nutshell, it’s like a rowing machine, but positioned in a more upright position. You push with your legs and pull up with your arms against resistance, so that you move your whole body up and down.

Why use our Rider?

Unlike other similar pieces of equipment on the market, the design of our Rider is different, and provides greater benefits to those who use it.

Here’s why:

  • The handles move too!  Unlike others, our handles move as well as the seat and foot plates– giving a genuine whole-body workout.
  • You’ll need to engage your chest, back and arm muscles to support this movement, as well as your core, glutes and legs!
  • We supply this product in 2 sizes, one for adults and one for children.

Feel the benefits

As with every item in our range, you’ll enjoy the advantages of an outdoor workout when you use the Rider. The fresh air will get the endorphins going, so that you should feel a lot better mentally as well as physically. Additionally, of course, you get a Vitamin D boost thanks to the increased exposure to sunlight. And, like all our gym equipment, it’s free for the end user.

But there are various mental and physical benefits associated with it specifically:

  1. With your muscles warm and your heart pumping, the Rider can burn off some serious calories, which will help with weight management when combined with a healthy, balanced diet.
  2. It is a fantastic way to tone your whole body
  3. Work muscle groups in the arm, core, legs and glutes, chest, back and shoulders, developing musclular strength and definition.
  4. Build flexibility, stamina and coordination. That’s because you use your arms and legs to pull and push at the same time, while remaining upright and engaging your core. Equally, because your limbs work together to drive the machine, you strengthen individual muscle groups, increasing flexibility as you go.
  5. Mix up your hand grip.  With an overhand grip you’ll work the upper back, chest and arms, while an underhand grip will put more emphasis on the biceps and lats.

Plan your Rider workout

To start with, push your legs and pull with your arms at low intensity to give yourself a five-minute warm-up.

Follow this by exercising at moderate intensity for a further five minutes.

Next, switch between medium and high intensity for another 15 minutes.

End with a five-minute cool-down: push your legs and pull your arms at low intensity.

Safety

We take this side of things very seriously, and provide clear safety and user guidance labelling, along with recommendations for effective workouts. And, as with all our machines, the Rider is produced to ISO9001 quality and management standards, while conforming to the UK safety standards EN1176 and EN16630.

And, by the way, for further peace of mind we also supply:

  • A 25-year warranty on structural parts
  • A five-year guarantee on paint and finishes
  • A two-year promise on moving parts and bearings
  • Year-long cover for plastic parts and accessories

The child-sized version

We also make the Children’s Rider in a size to suit kids, and again it’s one of our most sought-after units in this range. It’s aimed at Key Stage 1&2 youngsters, and kids can feel the same benefits adults do on the full-sized version, while setting their own pace.
