Founded by Paul Martin, who spotted a gap in the market when looking for ways to get fit outdoors, Fresh Air Fitness, based in Frimley, Surrey, has led the charge in the proliferation of outdoor fitness equipment across the UK, becoming part of a global industry which is expected to reach $1.8 billion by 2030.

Available to buy as part of a set package or individual pieces, each Fresh Air Fitness product is designed by the product development team to be fun and functional. With the most extensive range in the UK, the business offers an adult and child-sized range, making them a popular investment with councils and schools.

Tom Willock, Managing Director of Fresh Air Fitness, commented: “In 15 years, we have installed over 4,000 outdoor gyms across the UK, and we have seen the benefits our outdoor gyms offer from improving fitness, reducing crime and anti-social behaviour to providing a place to socialise for local communities. A Primary School Starter Package with five pieces of child-sized equipment costs £5,000 and is eligible for some types of government funding. A Council Package, which includes six pieces of equipment, has 11 user stations, is available to purchase for £6,500. Both packages include installation into grass. Aftercare service includes a customer care helpline, how-to video guides and access to a fitness app.
